UP polls: Akhilesh hints at electoral tie-up with estranged uncle | India News


KANPUR: In yet another broader hint of cementing ties between Akhilesh Yadav and his estranged uncle Shivpal, the Samajwadi Party chief promised Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL) founder and his uncle representation in the state cabinet if SP comes to power in 2022 assembly polls.
Not only this, Akhilesh Yadav also anounced that SP will not contest from Jaswantnagar, the assembly seat from where his uncle Shivpal Yadav had been contesting all these years.
Yadav without taking name of Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party also made it clear that his party will not go for any kind of alliance with big political parties.
However, he claimed that he will look for possibilities of tie-ups with smaller political parties.
SP chief, who was in his home district -Etawah on Saturday to celebrate Diwali, said, “I have said this on number of occasions and today I am saying it again, we have given Jaswantnagar seat to Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia.
Also, we will make their leader a cabinet minister. Now, we expect that workers of PSPL too should come forward and lend their full support to Samajwadi party in formation of next government in the state,” said Akhilesh on questions on alliance with political parties in upcoming 2022 assembly polls.
He also condemned and attack Yogi Adityanath led BJP government over insensitive behaviour by policemen with children of traders who were selling firecrackers in Bulandshahr.
“Lok Bhawan in the state capital is made for people to sit and give good governance, but if someone insult people and give them hardships, then such people should be thrown out from Lok Bhawan,” he said.
A number of leaders and workers from the Congress and the BSP joined the SP in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav on the occasion. “Every other day, leaders from Congress and BSP joining Samajwadi party, which is a good sign and it will further strengthen the SP,” he said.
