Stop beef for zoo animals: Assam BJP neta | India News

GUWAHATI: BJP member Satya Ranjan Borah on Monday led a demonstration outside the Assam state zoo here demanding that the practice of feeding beef to animals in captivity be stopped.
Borah, along with 30 others, also prevented a van carrying beef from entering the zoo premises. He said that if the zoo authorities and the Assam government don’t stop the supply of beef to animals, they should be ready to “face the consequences”. Beef and other kinds of meat are usually fed to tigers and lions. The zoo authorities asked them to forward their demands to the Central Zoo Authority, which decides on the food that needs to be given to animals.
