SRINAGAR: J&K police on Saturday lodged an FIR against the anonymous admin of a pro-Pakistan blog that has been running a “vilification campaign” against journalists and activists in Kashmir, including incitement to violence by branding them “Indian paid agents”.
In a statement, the police said posts “prejudicial to peace and the integrity and sovereignty of the country” were being circulated through the blog in the name of “struggle”. The blog is suspected to be part of a Pakistani terror propaganda mill, going by posts bearing the stamp of Lashkar-e-Islam, an outfit with roots across the border.
“Kothibagh police station (in Srinagar) has taken cognisance of the matter and an investigation has been set in motion,” a police officer said.
In 2018, journalist Shujaat Bukhari had been trolled online shortly before his assassination.
